February – Gippsland Open (Digital)

Any subject, any style. Whatever takes your fancy or captures your imagination as long as your image is taken in Gippsland. For this exercise Gippsland is the local government areas of Bass Coast, Baw Baw, East Gippsland, Latrobe, South Gippsland and Wellington.

 

March - Freeze Frame (Digital)

Freeze the action in the image by shooting at a fast shutter speed or keeping the main subject sharp and blur the background by panning (usually around 1/60 sec). Basically anything that is moving!

 

April – Minimalism (Print)

An image showing the bare essentials with simple compositions. Emphasising a small single main subject, with empty / negative space to create impactful images. Keeping it to a minimum and simple.

 

May – Repetition (Digital)

An image which incorporates a repeating shape, pattern, object, colour etc

 

June - Landscape (Digital)

Landscape photography captures the vast scenery and space of the natural environment.

Images can include natural views like mountains, valleys, lakes, deserts, fields, coastlines, and forests.

Man-made objects and animals can be in the photo, just not as the main subject.

 

July - Portrait / People (Digital)

The main subject of the image is of a person or people. They could be portraits, telling a story, in an environment setting, or candid photographs, that may range from a head study to full body length.

 

August - Colour My World (Print)

An image that is filled with colour. Capturing a super colour explosion, where colour is everywhere!

Maybe a bright sunset, colourful garden, autumn trees.

 

September - Triptych - Trio of Images (Digital)

A Triptych is a series of three visually linked images that are used to tell a story, demonstrate relationships between subjects or share a common theme. This is usually done through subject, composition, tone, or colour etc. Submit all three images as a single jpeg.

 

October - Beyond One Second (Digital)

Long exposure that involves capturing an image using a shutter speed of at least one second

 

November – Annual Treasure Hunt (Digital)

Treasure Hunt (Digital): Our annual fun day out. You can’t plan ahead for this one. We will keep you posted!!!

 

December – Open (Print)

Any subject, any style. Whatever takes your fancy or captures your imagination but this time your image can be taken anywhere.
